Alexander Holtz

Lawyer

Mr. Alexander Holtz is a lawyer and has been working at STEINPICHLER since October 2024. Previously, RA Holtz worked in a cooperation with Bub Memminger & Partner from 2021 to 2024 and was co-founder of HML HOLTZ, a law firm that has specialized in intellectual property law with an international focus since 1997. Before that, Alexander Holtz worked at Daimler AG and later worked as a lawyer in the law firm of the former Federal Minister of Justice, Hans A. Engelhardt. Since the early 1990s, his consulting work in the area of consumer electronics and the IT industry has led to his core competencies in patent and trademark law (including patent infringement and patent revocation proceedings – also internationally before the USITC), particularly for well-known companies from Japan, Malaysia and the USA, as well as in international business law. The privatization of German air traffic control and the reduction of NATO troops have also contributed to his specialization in international service law issues. For over two decades, Alexander Holtz has represented the interests of employees of international organizations, including EPO, ESO, EMBL, CERN, WHO, ILO and NATO. He is one of the few experts in this largely unknown area of law and also advises political institutions.

Alexander Holtz represents before the national courts as well as the tribunals of the EPO and before the International Labor Organization Administrative Tribunal (ILOAT) in Geneva.
